I'd love to hear about this place and have a couple reviews on here about the restaurant.
Here's the Article from WNEP:
Another area downtown is about to add a new restaurant to its roster and it may be one you've heard of already, if you're a "Seinfeld" fan.
It's one of the most popular episodes of the TV comedy "Seinfeld," commonly known as the Soup Nazi episode. The gruff owner of a soup counter turns away customers for not ordering correctly.
The man portrayed in the show was a real person, Al Yeganeh, and now the more politically correct Soup Man is now a restaurant franchise. The 20 store is set to open on Adams Avenue in Scranton next month.
Mary Ann Hanis, who will be one of the managers, said she is no stranger to what became a popular phrase after the episode aired.
"In restaurants, if you run out of soup and somebody wants a cup it's like, 'I'm out of soup. Oh, no soup for you!'" Hanis said, taking a line from the show.
The managers admit it is the novelty of the place that might first bring people in but they hope it's the product that will keep hungry customers coming back.
"Al's standards for his soups are so high. Nothing gets past him. It has to be the way he wants it and he wants it to be the best soup in the world," said manager Evelyn Walters.
Unlike the original shop in New York City, this Soup Man restaurant will have tables in the front with room to sit and eat. It will also offer salads and sandwiches. Al Yeganeh's shop did not. |

Yeah I went there on a cold Scranton day and had a cup of their cream of broccoli soup. It was amazingly good.
They give you a side of bread, with a choice of fruit, I chose an orange, and a little piece of chocolate.
Prices are decent. Definitely worth it. I suggest anyone who hasn't been there to test it out and see what you think.
Along with my soup I also got the half sandwich deal.. tomato & mozzarella... it was alright... wasn't too happy with that.
Check it out folks.
